Quick Summary of Steps for determining longitude from LAN (Local Apparent Noon) and GAT (Greenwich Actual Time).
Step1 - Determine the following:
Time
LAN:
GAT:
Step 2 - Figure out the difference
Difference(LAN GAT) = Hours:Minutes
Step3 - Convert your difference from Step 2 into Degrees
Take your Hours and multiply by 15o/hr. = Degree 1
Take your Minutes and multiply by 1o/4 min. = Degree 2
Step 4 - Add your 2 'Degree' numbers to arrive at your longitude
(Degree1) + (Degree2) = Longitude
Step 5 - Determine if Your Longitude is East or West of Greenwich
If LAN earlier than GAT = West
If LAN later than GAT = East
Step 6 - Enter Information to Land Helicopter
Enter Longitude / E or W
